Type species. Proverruca vinculum Withers, 1914 .

In addition to the type species, Proverruca cancellata Withers, 1935 , Proverruca nodosa Withers, 1935 , Proverruca laurae Withers, 1923 , Proverruca dentifer Gale , in Gale & Sørensen, 2015, Proverruca anglica Gale, 2020 , Proverruca minuta Gale, 2025 , Proverruca cenomanica Gale, 2025 and Proverruca ornata sp. nov.

Diagnosis. As for family.

Remarks. Proverruca is a very distinctive Late Cretaceous genus and occurs as a widespread, but uncommon, minority element in chalk (Cenomanian-Maastrichtian) cirripede faunas. It also occurs in nearshore deposits.
