* [ Cerithium ( Pithocerithium) maeoticum nov. sp.] var. punctata nov. var. — Karlov 1932: 72, 80, pl. 1, fig. 20 [ non Bruguière, 1792].
Type material. Lectotype designated herein: specimen illustrated in Karlov (1932: pl. 1, fig. 20), size not given, SL about 15 mm; National Mining University , Dnipropetrovsk ( Ukraine).
Type locality. Kerch peninsula.
Stratigraphy. Late Miocene, early Maeotian.
Discussion. Cerithium punctatum is preoccupied by Bruguière, 1792.As we consider Cerithium ( Pithocerithium) maeoticum punctata Karlov, 1932 as subjective junior synonym of Lampanella maeotica , no replacement name is needed.
Eastern Paratethys. Early Maeotian (Late Miocene): Crimea: Kerch peninsula.
