An adult ( Fig. 10 View Fig ) photographed on 30 January 2024 at Barrio Estación, Villarrica, Guairá department (25°47’36.2’’S 56°27’32’’W) by Victor Portillo, is the first record for the department. This is a common species in wetlands in the watersheds of the Paraguay and Paraná Rivers   GoogleMaps and has been previously reported from Alto Paraguay, Central   GoogleMaps , Concepción, Cordillera, Itapúa, Misiones, Ñeembucú, Paraguarí, Presidente Hayes and San Pedro departments ( Waller et al., 1995; Cacciali et al., 2016b; Zárate et al., 2019; Smith et al., 2024). It   GoogleMaps is considered to be of “Least Concern” in Paraguay ( Martínez et al., 2020c).
