Проходной вид. Для Чаунской губы приводится в списках (Черешнев [Chereshnev] 1983a, 1990, 1996a, 1996b). На арктическом побережье Азии, где известны отдельные находки чавычи, западным пределом ареала указывают Чаунский бассейн (Черешнев [Chereshnev] 2008a).
