Type locality: [ Kazakhstan, East Kazakhstan Region] Tarbagatay Mts , 4 km N Alexeevka, ca. 1000 m [Kz24] ( Farzalieva 2006) .

Lithobius ( Monotarsobius) tarbagataicus Farzalieva, 2006: 110 ( 11 ♂♂, 8 ♀♀).

Previous records. Kazakhstan: East Kazakhstan Region —Tarbagatay Mt. Range, Karakol [Kz23], Urjar [Kz24], Kyzylbulak [Kz25], Sholakterek [Kz26] river valleys ( Farzalieva 2006).

Habitat records. Riverine forests: Salix , Populus etc. with Rosa , Lonicera etc. bush on 500 m, Populus , Malus , Salix etc. with Rosa , Lonicera etc. bush on 1000 m, Populus , Malus , Salix etc. on 1100–1200 m; highly disturbed Populus forest with Salix, Rosa , Lonicera , Crataegus etc. on 1200 m; Populus , Malus , Salix etc. forest with Rosa , Lonicera etc. bush on 1000 m ( Farzalieva 2006).
