Taxonomic notes. The genital structure features (see diagnosis of Psychonoctua and Schreiteriana ) show the closer relationship to P. personalis , than to S. pectinicornis , the species is now considered in the genus Psychonoctua Grote, 1865 . The species is closer to P. albogrisea , as evidenced by the following synapomorphies: the unicolorous wing and the strong narrowing of the medium portion of the uncus; though the species differs from P. albogrisea in the longer aedeagus, the well expressed scabination area in the vesica and the robust saccus.
