COMMENTS: Salomonsen gave the AMNH number of the holotype in the original description and said that the range was Yapen ( 5 Japen) Island, coastal northern New Guinea from Geelvink Bay to Huon Gulf , and Fergusson Island . Higgins et al. (2008: 601) tentatively synonymized vulgaris with sonoroides.
