Stems up to 100 cm, spreading or procumbent. Leaves 10-40 x 6-20 mm, ovate or elliptical, rounded or broadly cuneate at base, green, scabrid and rugose above, with stellate hairs on both surfaces, petiolate. Flowers mostly solitary but sometimes up to 4 in a cyme, petiolate. Pedicels 10-100 mm. Sepals 5, the two outer cordate at base. Flowers 3-5 cm in diameter, white. Style very short. 2n= 18. S.
