Stout, caespitose, densely pubescent perennial up to 80 cm. Stems robust, often with axillary rays below the terminal umbel.

Leaves narrowly obovate, obtuse, serrulate. Ray-leaves ovate, narrowed, or rounded at base. Rays 5, about equalling or somewhat exceeding the ray-leaves. Glands often only 2-3. Capsule 3-8—4*3 mm, sparsely covered with short tubercles, glabrous. Seeds 2-5 mm, brown. Shady places. S. part o f Balkan peninsula and Aegean region. Al Bu Cr G r Ju Tu.
