Non-flowering branches up to 40; axillary rays not more than 20, never whorled. Leaves 5-28 mm. Glands without horns. Capsule 2-3-2-5 x 2-5-2-7 mm; seeds up to 1 -7 mm. Sandy and rocky shores. Throughout the range of the species, except Sicilia.
