Stems up to 15 cm, procumbent. Leaves 2-7 cm; leaflets 1—3(—4) pairs, suborbicular to oblong, emarginate, hairy on both surfaces. Peduncles absent or up to almost twice as long as leaves; racemes lax, with 2-5(-8) flowers. Calyx 2-5-3-4 mm, the teeth 4 as long as tube. Corolla usually whitish; standard c. 7 mm, often violet; wings equalling keel. Legume 15-25x3 mm, linear, curved to as much as a semicircle, oblong in transverse section, grooved beneath; beak incurved; valves very obtusely keeled, almost smooth, with short, dense, appressed hairs.
