Subgen. Cercidothrix Bunge . Perennials, sometimes suffruti­ cose; hairs usually medifixed. Leaves imparipinnate; rhachis sometimes spine-like and then terminal leaflet caducous; stipules free, adnateto the petiole, or connate to each other around the stem. Flowers erecto-patent to erect, or pendent, usually sub- sessile. Calyx tubular, not inflated in fruit.
