Leaflets linear to oblong-cuneate, acute, obtuse or truncate. Calyx-teeth shorter than tube; corolla (8-) 10-18 mm; standard light reddish-purple, the wings similar or somewhat darker. Legume 25-55 x (2-5-)3-6 mm, not contracted between the seeds, black or brownish-black, usually glabrous. Seeds 2-4 mm. 2«= 12, 14. Throughout the range of the species.
