Leaves 3-4 cm in diameter, suborbicular, with 4-5 pairs of veins; lobes obtuse, extending £ of the way to midrib. Mountains o f Balkan peninsula. Related species include:
S. danubialis (Jâv.) Kârpâti , Feddes Repert. 62: 185 (1960). Au Cz Ge Hu?Ju Rm Rs (W).
S. taurica Zinserl. in Komarov, Fl. URSS 9:497 (1939). Rs (K).
S. turcica Zinserl. in Komarov, loc. cit. (1939). Rs (K). These 3 species are intermediate between 6 and 8; the following is intermediate between 5 and 8.
