Plant silvery-glaucous. Terminal spines 10-20(-35) mm. Bracteoles 1-2-2 mm, as wide as the pedicel. Calyx (8-5—)9-5—12(—14) mm, sometimes with longer and more abundant hairs than in the other subspecies. Rocky headlands. S.E. Spain (Cabo de Gata), S. W. Portugal (Cabo de Sào Vicente).
