Stems 40-100 cm, erect. Leaves elliptical, with 4-10 pairs of leaflets; leaflets stalked, linear-lanceolate to ovate, sharply serrate, light green beneath. Capitula 4-7 cm, cylindrical, long-stalked, greenish-yellow to whitish. Sepals green. Stamens 4-15, much longer than the calyx. Fruiting hypanthium with broad wings. 2n = 56.
