Distribution. The species is recorded from South Africa only ( Gauteng, Mpumalanga, Eastern Cape, Free State, KwaZulu-Natal, Limpopo provinces).

Remarks. The labelling of Figs. 4 and 5 View FIGURES 1–12 in Puthz (2006) is incorrect. Fig. 4 View FIGURES 1–12 in the plate should be labelled as Fig. 5 View FIGURES 1–12 (refers in reality to S. gerardi and not to S. pretoriensis ) and Fig. 5 View FIGURES 1–12 should be labelled by Fig. 4 View FIGURES 1–12 (refers in reality to S. pretoriensis and not to S. gerardi ), which follows from next pictures ( Puthz 2006: Figs. 41–49 View FIGURES 38–46 View FIGURES 47–52 , 57–60 View FIGURES 53–66 ). The identification of records published by Janák (2008) as S. pretoriensis and S. gerardi were based simply on these pictures and should be corrected as follows: records of S. pretoriensis refers in reality to S. gerardi ( KwaZulu-Natal: Crocodile Farm, Hluhluwe) and record of S. gerardi refers in reality to S. pretoriensis ( 10 km NW of Winterton).
