Dianosis. This species differs from other species in the subgenus Dirhynchium by the following combination of characteristics: body smaller than other species (usually less than 13 mm); punctures on head and mesosoma weaker compared to other species; triangular area at base of propodeum is much longer than wide, bordered on each side by deep groove; declivity of propodeum not bordered dorsally by carina; body with more yellow marks compared to other species: antennal scape beneath, large yellow spot on each side of propodeum, broad yellow stripe on all tibiae, terga I–V with apical yellow bands, bands on terga I and II dialated laterally; in male, digitus almost rocket-shape apically, with dense and long setae on its surface medially; penis valve, in profile apical part strongly produced to triangle-shape.

Description of male genitalia ( Figs 3A–E View FIGURE 3 ). Genitalia were taken from specimens from Thanh Hoa Province. Tergum VIII widest at middle lengh, with lateral margins almost parallel at middle part, about 2.3 × as long as wide (at widest part), with narrow part at apex long (about 0.2 × its length) ( Fig. 3A View FIGURE 3 ). Parameral spine without setae. Volsella flattened, spatulate, wide on inner aspect, and without setae at top ( Fig. 3B View FIGURE 3 ). Digitus almost rocket-shape apically, with dense and long setae on its surface medially, about 3.2 × as long as wide (at widest part) ( Fig. 3C View FIGURE 3 ). Penis valve long ( Figs 3D, E View FIGURE 3 ), about 1.4× as long as basal apodeme, in profile apical part strongly produced to triangle-shape ( Fig. 3E View FIGURE 3 ); middle rod shorter than basal apodeme.
