Wiedemannia guadarramica sp. nov.
( Figs 26, 27, 28, 29, 30 View FIGURES 26–31 )
Diagnosis. A green to brown Wiedemannia species with elongate face; legs without remarkable setae; wing with dark roundish pterostigma, R 2+3 dipped beneath; distiphallus with 2 parallel rows of setae underneath; clasping cercus with several lobes of complex structure, central part covered with strong black setae, anterior end thin, curved upward and covered with strong setae on inner surface; posterior end of the thin lobe, curved dorsally; large lobe hammer-shaped.
Description. Male. Body dark-green to brown, body length approximately 6–7 mm. Head elongate, gena approximately ¾ of eye diameter. Thorax dark brown with several pairs of dorsocentrals (dc) and many acrostichals (ac) about half as long as dc, distributed along entire length of mesonotum. Legs brown without remarkable setae on fore and mid legs, hind tibia with 5 stronger setae on apical half. Wing with basicostal seta, pterostigma black roundish, large with vein R 2+3 clearly bent; m 1 crossvein short. Wing length 5.0 mm ( holotype), 5.4 mm ( paratype).
Abdomen. Terminalia with triangular hypandrium with round corners, basiphallus almost straight 2x longer than hypandrium; distiphallus about half as long as basiphallus, at about middle with 2 parallel rows of flat setae. Epandrium quadrate, surstylus small; clasping cercus of complex structure, dorsal edge of elongate central part covered with strong black setae, median and lower parts micro-setulose, anterior end thin, curved upward and covered with 4 strong setae on inner surface; posterior end thin lobe, curved dorsally, covered with long black setae; large lobe at middle of clasping cercus with short basal tip and elongate distal portion covered with fewer strong setae on dorsal part.
Material examined. HOLOTYPE: ♂: Spain: slide mounted in coll. Vaillant [three white labels on slide]: 1. Wiedemannia (Wiedemannia) guadarramica VAILLANT , ♂ ; Holotype [handwritten in ink]; 2. Sierra de Guadarrama st. 5 [handwritten in ink], Wied. (Wied.) [handwritten in pencil]; 3. GBIFCH 00603166 [printed]; reverse side: Wiedemannia guadarramica Wagner 2024 holotype [red label; handwritten in ink] . PARATYPE: Spain: 1 ♂ , slide mounted, in coll. Vaillant [three white labels on slide]: 1. Wiedemannia (Wiedemannia) guadarramica VAILLANT , ♂, HOLOTYPE [handwritten in ink], GEN. FACE [handwritten in pencil] 2. GBIFCH 00603167 [printed], 3. Espagne, Sierra de Guadarrama [handwritten in ink], station 5 [handwritten in pencil]; reverse side: Wiedemannia guadarramica Wagner 2024 , paratype [red label; handwritten in ink] .
Remarks. The two slide mounted specimens were found in the Vaillant collection (MZLS), both labelled as holotypes. A description was never published by Vaillant. The species is part of the Wiedemannia bistigma -species group and based on the shape of the clasping cercus, it is morphologically most similar to W. braueri (Mik) ( Fig. 31 View FIGURES 26–31 ).
Etymology. The new species is named after the mountain range where it was collected, the Sierra de Guadarrama ( Spain).
