Fig. 6 View FIGURE 6
Paccius mucronatus Simon, 1898: 215 View in CoL .
Type material. Holotype ♂: MADAGASCAR: Ile St. Marie (Nosy Boraha), Toamasina Province. n° Simon 9659, [leg. Mocquerys, approximately 1890]. (examined from photos and illustrated here; MNHN—AR14402).
Diagnosis. Clearly distinguished from congeners by the retrolateral expansion of the cymbium, which is very large and smoothly rounded across its entire length, the retrolateral expansion that is>2/3 cymbium length and 2/3 the tegulum width ( Fig. 6C, E View FIGURE 6 ) (vs. maximally half the cymbial length and width, and never smoothly rounded across its entire length), and the short pointed RTA, around half the tibial width (retrolateral view), which arises at the apex of the segment and is directed at 3 o’clock position (retrolateral view) for much of its length before a slight anterior sinuosity ( Fig. 6D, F View FIGURE 6 ) (vs. at maximum, directed at 01:30 position).
