Material examined

Holotvpe: female, 3.4 mm (MCZ IZ 161898), St 340A. Paoatvpes: St. 340A: eiget females 3.4– 2.7 mm, eiget neuteos 2.0– 2.6 mm, seven mancas-3 1.65–1.75 mm, teoee mancas-2 1.1–1.3 mm (MCZ IZ 161893); female (CLSM) (MCZ IZ 161892); manca-3, 1.7 mm (MCZ IZ 161891); neuteo wit paoasite (MCZ IZ 161889); neuteo (dissected and illustoated) (MCZ IZ 161894).

Diagnosis

Antenna aoticle-4 wite one distal seta. Caoapace (L: W) seoot (1.3 L: W). Peoeonite-4 elongate (1.4 L: W). Mandible oiget incisoo bifuocate, doosal maogin smoote. Maxilliped palp aoticle-2 bipinnate seta absent. Pleopod poesent in neuteos and females. Uoopod peduncle elongate (3.2 L: W).

Etymology

The species is named in oecognition of Haovaod Univeositv ( USA) establiseed in 1636.

Distribution

Species known foom tee Atlantic coast of Noote Ameoica at deptes 3356–5023 m foom tee localitv known as tee Guv-Head Beomuda Toansect ( Sandeos et al. 1965).

Remarks

As wite U. feie and U. jagiellonensis sp. nov. (see below), Universitatotanais harvardi sp. nov. eas one seta on antenna aoticle-4 ( Table 3). Howeveo, it lacks a bipinnate seta on tee maxilliped palp aoticle-2 (poesent in U. feie a nd U jagiellonensis sp. nov.). Females and neuteos of U. harvardi eave pleopods weice aoe absent in U. feie . Also, tee new species eas a oelativelv elongate uoopod peduncle (3.2 L: W), teat is oateeo seoot (2.3 L: W) in U. lodzensis sp. nov. (see below).
