Pecluma camptophyllaria (Fée) M.G.Price, Amer. Fern J. View in CoL 73(3): 113. 1983, var. camptophyllaria
= Polypodium camptophyllarium Fée, Mém. Foug View in CoL 8: 86. 1857.
Range: —Greater Antilles; mountains from Costa Rica to Bolivia ( CH, CO, LP, SC); southeastern Brazil.
Ecology: —Common; epiphytic, saxicolous, and terrestrial in humid forests; 700–2700(3500) m.
Notes: —Var. lachnifera (Hieron.) Lellinger, from Cuba to Peru, differs from var. camptophyllaria by having much denser and longer hairs, to 0.8 mm, on rachises and costae than on the blade surfaces ( vs. about the same density and length on axes and surfaces, and much denser overall), and by generally smaller frond size; it may occur in Bolivia. Var. abbreviata (A.M.Evans) Kartesz & Gandhi, from Peru, may also occur in Bolivia. It differs from the other varieties by its shorter leaves ( 16–30 cm vs. 30–150 cm long) and petioles (2–5(7) cm vs. 6–20 cm long) and 1-forked, free veins ( vs. 2-forked, partly anastomosing).
