Range: —Central Peru, Bolivia (SC).
Ecology: —Rare, known from few Bolivian collections: Brooke 5748 (BM); Steinbach 7915 (K); Cárdenas 1397 (K); Wood 19831 (K); Paniagua 5646 (MO, USZ); epiphytic in semihumid forests; 350– 900 m.
Notes: —Most easily confused with M. lycopodioides when sterile, but M. ulei can be readily distinguished when fertile by its strongly dimorphic fronds ( vs. monomorphic to weakly dimorphic). It is also close to M. vacciniifolia , from which it can be separated by the characters presented in the key.
