Remarks. This species was described from the holotype and a paratype. The former was recorded with the following data: “Gangtok (6,000 ft.), Sikkim; May, 1928 (Coll. F.M. Bailey. In the Indian Museum (No. 5412/ H7)” and the latter without data but by inference from the same locality as the holotype based on the comments of two topotypic slightly mutilated non-types. The aedeagus of the specimen that Pruthi illustrated is also mutilated. Pruthi placed the species in Monobazus based on the similarity of the colour markings of the head and thorax to that of the type species of the genus, M. himalayensis . However, the male genitalia are quite different, so much so that this species belongs to a genus different from Monobazus . The subgenital plates are without membranous appendage covered with hair-like setae, the male pygofer is without ventral process, the aedeagus is without ventral forked process and hence it is removed from the genus Monobazus and transferred to the genus Longicornus Li & Song (2008) based on the short subgenital plate with subapically incurved margin and other male genitalia characters.
