Wanritettix Vilbaste 1969: 12 View in CoL . Type species: Thamnotettix wanrianus Matsumura View in CoL , by original designation.

Remarks. Vilbaste (1969) has adequately described this genus. It can be recognized by the more or less trapezoidal male pygofer with short ventral process arising almost at midlength of the ventral margin, aedeagus with both dorsal apodeme and preatrium well developed, the aedeagus with a lateral process arising near basal 0.25 length of shaft. This genus is very similar to Mavromoustaca Dlabola and even may prove to be congeneric in which case Wanritettix has date priority, however, this nomenclatural change has not been made here pending further studies on the included species.
