Diagnosis. Coloration similar to that in M. brunnescens (Pruthi) , but smaller. Male genitalia similar to P. grimeus (Li & Wang) but the pygofer ventral process sinuate in distal 0.25, apex foot-shaped, subgenital plate 7× as long as wide at base, aedeagal shaft with subapical lateral small triangular projections.
Description. Uniformly yellowish ochraceous; fore and middle tibiae brownish, fore and middle tarsi piceous.
Head wider than pronotum. Crown and pronotum polished. Crown medially subconically produced in front of eyes, longer medially than next to eyes; 0.7× as long medially as distance between eyes. Face including eyes slightly wider than long. Pronotum twice as wide as median length, and about as long as mesonotum. Forewing venation not prominent.
Male genitalia. Pygofer slightly longer than width in lateral view, ventral process blade-like, arising basiventrally, directed dorsally and posteriorly, exceeding posterior margin, sinuate in distal 0.25 and apex foot-like. Subgenital plate 7× as long as width at base, proximal half of uniform width, distal half tapered with numerous hair-like setae, without macrosetae. Style elongate, with short, stout apophysis, subapical lobe smoothly rounded not very prominent. Connective with arms as long as stem, both stem and arms widened at apices. Aedeagus curved in distal half, with subapical pair of short triangular lateral extension, gonopore apical.
Measurements. Male 3.9 mm long, 1.1 mm wide across eyes and 1.0 mm wide across posterolateral angles of pronotum.
Material examined. HOLOTYPE ♂, INDIA: Meghalaya: Ri-Bhoi, ICAR RC NEH, Umiam 1031m, 10.vi.2013, Vinayaka T, Light trap ( UASB).
Etymology. The specific epithet (umiamensis, -ense) is derived from the type locality (Umiam) where the holotype was collected.
Remarks. P. umiamensis is similar to P. grimeus , but differs in the shape of the pygofer ventral process, the subgenital plate and the aedeagus.
