Remarks. Externally this species resembles Wanritettix wanrianus (Matsumura) in coloration, but has lateral areas of the frontoclypeus and area surrounding the base of the antennae dark brown, the spots on the crown are more roundish compared to somewhat rectangular ones in the latter species. However, the male genitalia of the two species are entirely different.
