Figs 44A–H View FIGURES 44
Diagnosis. Crown, pronotum and mesonotum coloration as in Mavromoustaca opressa sp. nov., but with darker tint; forewings with prominent venation with a few spots on clavus and corium dark brown. Male genitalia similar to that in M. sikkimensis , (see below) but posterior margin of pygofer rounded (somewhat truncate in M. sikkimensis ), ventral pygofer process curved dorsally before reaching posterior margin of pygofer (curved dorsally after extending beyond posterior margin of pygofer in M. sikkimensis sp. nov.), subgenital plate with distal half narrowed and forming membranous apical appendage compared to very short membranous apex of subgenital plate in M. sikkimensis . Aedeagus with shaft straight for most part and apically curved anteriorly, apex not strongly flared (aedeagal shaft slightly curved right from base and apex flared in M. sikkimensis ).
Description. Coloration of crown, pronotum and mesonotum similar to that in M. opressa sp. nov., but with darker tint. Forewing much paler with brown prominent venation, apices of claval veins, apex of clavus and a few cross veins and spots on corium dark brown ( Fig. 44A View FIGURES 44 ).
Head as wide as pronotum. Crown medially produced, conically rounded, about as long medially as interocular distance. Pronotum 1.5× as long as crown, mesonotum 1.2× longer than pronotum.
Male genitalia. Pygofer in lateral view narrowed posteriorly with posterodorsal angle rounded, ventral process arising basiventrally, dorsally curved smoothly just before reaching posterior margin, apex acute almost attaining dorsal margin. Valve strap-like. Subgenital plate sclerotized in proximal half and less sclerotized and narrowed in distal half, about 4× as long as wide at base. Style with apophysis narrowed apically, more or less straight but laterally directed. Aedeagus with preatrium about 0.45× as long as shaft, dorsal apodeme slightly shorter than preatrium, shaft straight for most part and apically curved anteriorly, apex not strongly flared, ventral processes arising slightly before midlength of shaft and exceeding shaft.
Measurements. Male 4.5 mm long and 1.0 mm wide across eyes.
Material examined. NEPAL: HOLOTYPE ♂, Taplejung Distr. Dobhan, above R. Maewa c. 4000ft, Mixed vegetation in dry gully, on wooded slope, 29.i.1962 ,, Brit. Mus. Easr Nepal Exp. 1961–62, R.L. Coe Coll. B.M. 1962-177 ( BMNH).
