Remarks. Widely distributed in the western Atlantic, ranging from Florida southwards to northern Brazil, including numerous localities in the Caribbean Sea and Gulf of Mexico ( Anker et al., 2012); earlier records may refer to related taxa; lives in male-female pairs in several species of sponges, 0– 80 m.
