Remarks. One of the most common and widespread species of Synalpheus in the western Atlantic, ranging from North Carolina southwards to Rio de Janeiro and Trindade Island, Brazil, including much of the Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico ( Anker et al., 2012; 2016); typically found in female-male pairs in a variety of microhabitats, including coral rocks crevices, calcareous algae and sponges, 0– 102 m.
