Remarks. Widespread in the western Atlantic, ranging from Massachusetts southwards to São Paulo, Brazil, including much of the Caribbean Sea and Gulf of Mexico ( Felder et al., 2009); most common in sea grass beds and algal mats, 0– 72 m.
