Remarks. Amphi-Atlantic taxon, in the western Atlantic ranging from New Jersey southwards to Argentina ( Felder et al., 2009),with the present material being a new record for Panama; most frequently found in sea grass beds, but also occurs in a variety of other microhabitats, 0–44 m
