Remarks. Widespread in the western Atlantic, ranging from Bermuda and Massachusetts southwards to Ceara, Brazil, including the Caribbean Sea and Gulf of Mexico ( Felder et al., 2009); Wicksten’s (1989) record from the Pacific coast of Colombia is highly doubtful; typically associated with sea grass and algae, 0– 5 m.
