Remarks. Widely distributed in the tropical northwestern Atlantic, from southern Florida southwards to Venezuela, including the entire Caribbean Sea and southern parts of the Gulf of Mexico (Anker, 2012); typically encountered in sea grass beds or close to mangroves, in burrows or under large rocks, 0– 3 m.
