Remarks. One of the largest sponge-dwelling species of Synalpheus Spence Bate, 1888 ; known with certainty from Belize, Panama, Curaçao, Florida and Bahia, Brazil ( Anker et al., 2012); typically in male-female pairs in a variety of sponges, 1– 65 m.
