Distribution: Indo-West Pacific; Red Sea; Hawaii Islands ( Serène 1984).

Remarks: Actaeodes tomentosus (H. Milne Edwards, 1834) ( Fig. 2A View Fig ) is commonly found in reef habitats in Taiwan. There are numerous reports noting the presence of this species in Taiwanese waters ( Ng et al. 2017).
