Distribution: Indo-West Pacific; French Polynesia ( Serène 1984; Poupin, 1996).

Remarks: The morphology of the present specimens ( Fig. 10A–C View Fig ) aligns with the diagnosis of L. scabricula (Dana, 1852) ( Dana 1852b: 221; Lasley et al. 2015: 174). Hsueh et al. (2009) documented the first record of this species in Taiwan from a specimen collected in Shihmen, northern Taiwan. The current findings indicate that this species is also present along the coasts of southern Taiwan.
