Material examined. 3 males, 1 female northern Blanquilla Island , 11°54’N 64°17’W, Fritjof Nansen R / V st 477, 135– 160 m depth, 2.vi.1988, bottom trawling net, inside hexactinellid sponge, ( USNM 1573503 About USNM - USNM 1573504 About USNM ) GoogleMaps : 1 female same data, (MMM-Crus-0300) .
Geographic & bathymetric distribution. Known only from the type locality, off northern Blanquilla Island , Venezuela, Caribbean Sea; 135–160 m depth ( Rodríguez Quintal & Goy 2019).
Remarks. S. liosomatus is the first member of Spongicola sensu stricto to be found in the Atlantic Ocean.
