Material examined. 1 ov. female, 3 females, 12 miles off North Guanta, Anzoátegui state, 10°25’00”N 64°35’00”W, Fritjof Nansen R / V st 490, 143– 154 m depth, 4.vi.1988, (MMM-Crus-256) GoogleMaps .
Geographic & bathymetric distribution. USA (Massachusetts), Gulf of México, Colombia; 183–476 m depth ( Campos et al. 2005; Felder et al. 2009), Venezuela (present study).
Remarks. No records for Venezuela until now. GBIF web page has an unpublished record of this species from 15 miles off North Bahía de Turiamo, Aragua state, from Texas Cooperative Wildlife Collection (TCWC 2-7278). This is the first confirmed report for P. tenuipes for Venezuela.
