Material examined. 3 ov. females, 25 miles off N Los Testigos Archipelago, 11°45’00”N 63°05’00”W, Fritjof Nansen R / V st 743, 807 – 878 m depth, 31.viii.1988, (MMM-Crus-444) GoogleMaps .
Geographic & bathymetric distribution. Western Atlantic Ocean: from USA (Massachusetts), Gulf of Mexico, Guadalupe, Venezuela, French Guyana, Suriname to Brazil (Amapá); Eastern Atlantic Ocean; Indo-West Pacific Ocean; 165-2100 m depth ( Felder et al. 2009).
Remarks. This is the first record of the species in Venezuela.
