Geographic & bathymetric distribution. Western Atlantic Ocean: Bermuda, USA (Florida) and Gulf of Mexico to Brasil (Espírito Santo and Rio de Janeiro); Indo-Pacific Ocean. ( Chace 1986; Cardoso & Young 2005; Pequegnat & Wicksten 2006; Alves-Junior et al. 2019); 100–3716 m depth ( Alves-Junior et al. 2019).

Remarks. Previous records for Venezuela: off N La Tortuga Island ( Judkins 2014).
