Material examined. None.
Geographic & bathymetric distribution. From South Carolina ( USA) and the Bahama Islands south to Surinam, including the greater part of the West Indian area ; 410–2150 m depth, most frequently between 1280–1460 m depth ( Holthuis 1971).
Remarks. The only record of this species in Venezuela was made by Holthuis (1971) with specimens collected at Los Roques Archipelago, at 1784–1866 m.
