Nematus zetterstedti Dahlbom, 1835a: 40 , plate fig. 5. Syntypes ♀♀ (ZMLU), not examined [but examined by Lindqvist (1956)]. Type locality: not stated. Synonymy with miniatus by Thomson (1863).

Nematus miniatus Hartig, 1837: 189–190 . Lectotype designated below. Synonymy by Konow (1903c).

Nematus sibiricus Jakowlew, 1888: 368–369 . Synonymy by Konow (1903c).

Nematus biannulatus Costa, 1890: 5 , pl. III fig. 2. Holotype ♀, not located. Type locality: Greece. Synonymy by Konow (1903c).

Diagnosis

Black antennae and mesepisternum distinguish the females from the darker specimens of E. miliaris . Male not known for certain.

Host plants

Populus tremula . Records from Salix ( Georgiev et al. 2002) and Betula ( Boevé 1990) need confirmation.

Palaearctic. Specimens studied are from Belgium, Czech Republic (uncertain male), Finland, Germany, Russia, and Sweden.
