Clivina vulgivaga latastriata ssp. nov.
( Figs 3 B View Fig , 5 C View Fig )
ETYMOLOGY
The name refers to the elytron with its widened striae apically (Latin: latus = wide) which are narrow and in the nominate subspecies.
TYPE MATERIAL
Holotype: ♀, with labels and data: white, handwritten in black ink “ Singapor 77.15” / “ Singapore ” / “vulgivaga Boh. var.?” / white, black printed with barcode “NHMUK015024539” ( NHMUK).
REMARK
The right intermediate tarsomeres are missing. The right elytron shows a pinhole.
DIAGNOSIS
The subspecies differs from the nominotypical subspecies mainly by the pronotum which is slightly longer and the elytron with widened striae apically. In addition, the female gonocoxites are short, not completely fused, stick-like, regularly convex, and basally widened, and the epipleurite is six-setose instead of seven-setose.
DESCRIPTION
Measurements. Holotype: body length 5.97 mm, width 1.71 mm; ratio length/width of pronotum 1.01; ratio length/width of elytra 2.0.
The subspecies differs from the nominotypical subspecies mainly in the following characters:
Head. Neck constriction closed by band of punctures, with slight step, punctures connected with central pore by punctures.
Pronotum ( Fig. 3 B View Fig ). Lateral margin slightly concave at attenuated part in anterior half; Y-like puncture pattern on disk more distinct as is in the nominate subspecies.
Elytron. Striae posteriorly widened and less distinctly impressed, flattened, with irregular reticulation; isodiametric reticulation in posterior half of elytron more intense laterally and at interval one.
Male genitalia. Unknown.
Female gonocoxite and epipleurite ( Fig. 5 C View Fig ). Gonocoxites small, not completely fused, stick-like in cross section, straight, slightly hooked apically, slightly longer than ramus of epipleurite, epipleurite at margin with four medium and one small sized setae, basally with additional seta.
