COMPENDIOUS DESCRIPTION

A small sized fuscous subcylindrical species with the following measurements: body length 4.57–5.45 mm (x = 4.81 mm *), width 1.14–1.49 mm (x = 1.29 mm *), ratio L/W of pronotum 1.01–1.05 (x = 1.03*), ratio L/W of elytra 2.02–2.09 (x = 2.05*); (*n = 7). Labrum seven-setose, bilobed anteriorly. Head with frons and clypeus smooth. Median part of clypeus distinctly separated from clypeal wings by slight notches, clypeal-wings right-angled. Eye distinctly convex, projecting laterally, gena small. Clypeo-frontal furrow distinct, wide. Neck constriction formed laterally by punctures, open at middle. Frons with large circular depression resembling to a reverse horseshoe with obtuse carina laterally, facial carina short. Pronotum ( Fig. 3 E View Fig ) longer than wide, distinctly convex in frontal view, slightly convex in lateral view, with lateral margin slightly attenuating anteriorly with straight parts anterior middle, widest and distinctly convex at beginning of basal third, anterior and posterior angles not projecting, lateral margin slightly crenulated, surface nearly smooth on disc, bilaterally with puncture pattern resembling to the Greek letter gamma, with finely scattered punctures, with isodiametric reticulation at base. Proepisternum with distinct isodiametric reticulation, laterally with fine transverse wrinkles. Elytra ( Fig. 1 C View Fig ) subcylindrical, striae one to four ending free at base, interval three with four setigerous punctures, interval two with apical setigerous puncture. Intervals convex, all intervals smooth, glossy; interval eight carinate in its whole length, seventh carinate apically and with very short carina at humerus, third at base with small tubercle. Abdomen laterally with distinct isodiametric reticulation, indistinct at middle, two apical setigerous punctures widely separated. Hind wing fully developed. Intermediate tibia with two tubercles with setae above the spur at the lateral side. Protrochanter with tooth at apex, tarsomeres of same size.

Male genitalia ( Fig. 4 C View Fig ). Aedeagus slightly arcuate at middle, formed like an arcuate longitudinal slightly hollowed out spoon in apical half, with median lobe at middle, pointed at apex. Parameres slender, with two setae at apex.

Female gonocoxite and epipleurite ( Fig. 5 F View Fig ). Gonocoxites falciform, robust, evidently sclerotized, with gonocoxites completely fused, with one long and strong and four medium sized setae. Epipleurite triangular, formed by a stable velum furnished with a group of five setae at the middle and one seta basally.

Variation. The third interval of the elytron exhibits in two specimens fife setae in addition to the apical seta at interval two.
