Umbel without bulbils. Flowers often numerous. Capsules with fertile seed abundantly produced. 2n= l 6. S. lEurope! westwards III S.E France.
A. myrianthum Boiss. , Diagn. P1. Or. Nov. 1(5): 59 (1844), from S.W. Asia, has been recorded from Turkey-in-Europe (near Istanbul), but probably only as a casual introduction; it can be distinguished from 71 most easily by its hemispherical or sub- globose umbel, cylindrical perianth, with white segments 2-3 x 0-7-1 mm, filaments 2-5—4mm and yellow anthers. A. conval- larioides Grossh. (cf. 57) may be synonymous.
