Type species: Beloptera belemnoidea de Blainville, 1825 View in CoL ; by original designation.
Diagnosis: Chamber length-to-diameter ratio <0.2, except earliest (postembryonic–juvenile) chambers; postalveolar sheath oriented towards venter, length of club variable, lateral extensions well developed, winglike, oriented towards venter, ventral ridge moderately developed (after Fuchs, 2023: p. 8–9).
