Plocoederus bipartitus Buquet, 1860: 624 View in CoL .
Remarks. This species was described from French Guiana. According to Monné (2024a) and Tavakilian & Chevillotte (2024), it was described based on a single specimen. However, Buquet (1860) reported (translated): “I have seen, in Mr. J. Thomson's collection, an individual of this species in which the red spot invades at least two thirds of the elytra. It comes from the same locality [Cayenne].” Therefore, according to ICZN (1999: 72.4.1), the species was described based on two syntypes. Currently, it is known from Ecuador ( Orellana), Suriname, French Guiana, Bolivia ( Santa Cruz), and Brazil (Amazonas, Pará, Roraima, Rondônia, and Maranhão) ( Monné 2024b; Tavakilian & Chevillotte 2024).
