Dorsal shield bearing 30 pairs of moderately long and modified setae (distally expanded, spatulate to trifurcate);
setae smooth in H. aculeatus . Pre-sternal area with one pair of elongated pre-sternal platelets. Sternal shield with three pairs of smooth or wedge-shaped setae. Metasternal shields free (fused to endopodal shields in H. confusus ) and bearing the metasternal setae st4. Peritrematal shields fused to podal and genitiventrianal shields, bearing a pair of genital setae st5 and four pairs of pre-anal setae; shield sometimes with a pair of expulsory vesicles situated posteriorly to the coxa IV. Epistome with a short median projection and one pair of lateral projection, serrated margins. Corniculus usually shorter than movable digit of chelicera, sometimes longer. Chelicera chelate-dentate, fixed digit with 4–7 teeth, movable digit with two teeth. Cheliceral seta smooth. Males similar to female, except with holoventral shield bearing 10 pairs of setae ( st1–5 and five pairs of pre-anal setae)
