Distribution by States in the Northeast Region of Brazil. Alagoas.

Comments. This genus occurs throughout the planet, but mainly in the Old World ( Pang et al. 2020). Six species of Novius occur naturally in the New World, with no known occurrences in Brazil until now ( Gordon 1972a; Pang et al. 2020). This is the first record of the tribe and Novius for Northeast Brazil, due to the occurrence of the exotic N. cardinalis .
